Our Graduate Success Stories
My initial experience at Herzing University – Birmingham began with an appointment with Tommy Dennis, Director of Admissions. I was greeted by Mary Carter at the front desk. Ms. Carter is always happy and helpful for a prospective student like me. I can always depend on her for help or direction to the right person. No matter what my question or dilemma may be, Ms. Carter has the answer or knows where to find it. Lenora Landrum in Educational Funding Services knows how to handle my monthly payments. It was never an issue, just a process.
Tommy Dennis was the perfect fit for me. I felt like he understood my situation. It has been 20+ years since I have been in school. Mr. Dennis convinced me that I would do great. He was patient in explaining to me what needs to done and by when. He was always available – by phone, email, and in person.
Ken Sims is the magician – he makes it happen financially. I needed help or I couldn’t move forward. Mr. Sims made me aware of financial assistance for veterans and helped me make that happen.
President Lewis made a big contribution to my experience at orientation. He emphasized the importance of attendance and I took it to heart. I never missed a class, nor was I ever late. The good that came from that commitment has been invaluable.
Finally, I cannot say enough about Mr. Wilhoit. I have never known anyone as sincere, sensitive, and genuine as Mr. Wilhoit. He has instructed, guided, counseled, coached, and encouraged me all along the way. I could not have made it without him. He was there when I took my first certification exam. He told me what to study and ways to study. I shared with him my progress and he would continue to coach me. I have taken four exams and scored perfectly on two of them! I regard Mr. Wilhoit as a friend for the rest of my career. I look forward to sharing with him my progress. I will certainly continue to contact him for his input and recommendations. He does not have an ounce of selfishness in him.
I look forward to my opportunities with Herzing to finish my bachelor’s degree. Thank you for all you do and all you are to students who need guidance and encouragement.
